Butterkist will release two brand new, first to market flavours, in a sharing bag format.
Butterkist Choc Mallow Popcorn (170g, MRRSP £1.49) and Butterkist Coconut and Raspberry Popcorn (160g, MRRSP £1.49) will both launch in the wholesale, convenience and grocery channels in September 2016.
The Choc Mallow Popcorn is a generously coated toffee popcorn, with a chocolate and marshmallow flavour that gives consumers a smooth chocolate and vanilla hit.
Butterkist Coconut and Raspberry Popcorn also uses Butterkist toffee coated popcorn and combines mellow coconut and tangy raspberry.
Coconut has massively grown in popularity this combination has been extremely successful within the baking market and consumers can now experience this flavour profile within popcorn, according to the brand.
Anjna Mistry, senior brand manager at Butterkist, said: “Data shows that sweet variants are contributing to 40 per cent of value growth within the popcorn market (IRI Data to 22nd May 2016), which as a whole is currently growing 13.7 per cent year on year*.
“Butterkist is famous for sweet popcorn and we want to continue to lead this sector of the snacking market by developing appealing flavour combinations that resonate with consumers. Our two brand new flavours can help capitalise on the latest market trends to maximise sales for retailers.”
Both Butterkist Choco Mallow Popcorn and Butterkist Coconut and Raspberry Popcorn will be available in single faced SRP case sizes of 8.
