Lucozade Energy, the UK’s number one energy brand (IRI MarketPlace, 52 w/e 22.01.17), is revealing two new flavours - Blackcurrant Bliss and Pineapple Punch.
Available from March 27 and exclusive to wholesale, both flavours come in 380ml £1 PMPs.
The soft drinks category is worth £1.5billion (IRI 52 w/e 22.01.17) within independents and symbols, with energy drinks making up more than a quarter (26% IRI MarketPlace, GB, 52 w/e 22.01.17) of the total category value. In the past year alone, sales have climbed almost 2% (1.9% IRI, 52 w/e 22.01.17 vs 52 w/e 22.01.16) - making this segment a significant revenue stream for retailers.
Mark Sterratt, head of market, strategy and planning at Lucozade Ribena Suntory, said: “We know how important our brand is for the wholesale route to market, which is why we’re offering these flavours exclusively. They give a real point of difference from the multiples and are absolutely must-stock products for any retailer looking to boost sales this summer and beyond.
“The launch couldn’t be more timely too, with the warmer months just around the corner. This is a core selling period for soft drinks and provides a big opportunity for retailers - with the demand for impulsive chilled drink purchases at its highest between April and August.”
