McGuigan Wines is expanding its core Black Label range with a new full-bodied Malbec.
The new McGuigan Black Label Malbec, available from November (rrp £7 per bottle), will sit within McGuigan’s Black Label range, which the brand says is known for their quality, good value and easy drinking style.
With Malbec typically associated with Argentina, this Australian version embodies the bold character and spicy flavour profile of an Argentinian variety, but without being overly weighty. Incorporating the lighter elements of a classic French Malbec, Black Label Malbec displays intense spiced fruit characters, generous weight and good length of flavour.
Neil McGuigan, chief winemaker, said: “We are very proud to have created our Australian take on Malbec, the McGuigan Black Label Malbec offers a lighter, easier style but still fantastically suited to red meat dishes.”
“It’s exciting to be adding a great quality wine to the increasingly popular Black Label portfolio, and the first time we’ve released a Malbec into the UK market.”
