Treasury Wine Estates has launched a new food-centred range of wines under its Rosemount brand in an aim to be at the forefront of the everyday meals occasion.
Global insights from Kantar Alcovision have shown that while everyday meal at home is the second biggest wine occasion, it has been under threat from other alcohol categories in recent years.
Bottled in uniquely designed packaging, the new range clearly makes a connection with a recommended food match.
There are four wines in the range (rrp £6.99): Cabernet Merlot matched with pasta; Shiraz with steak; Sauvignon Blanc with seafood and Chardonnay with chicken.
Caroline Thompson-Hill, head of marketing for the UK and Western Europe at TWE, says each wine has been created to perfectly match and enhance specific everyday meals. “Rosemount Meal Matchers simplifies a category that can be very intimidating for those less involved in wine. The distinctive chalkboard effect bottle design directly communicates a clear food and wine pairing to inspire shoppers while they are in store.”
