Bolton-based retailer Baz Jethwa is set to open his third store under the Spar fascia.
Baz, who already owns two Costcutter stores in Bolton, said he opted to switch to Spar for the new store because of its focus on food to go.
The 3,000sq ft town centre store, within a 5,000sq ft site, includes a 1,000sq ft dedicated food to go area, including hot food, sandwiches and baguettes to go.
“We went with Spar because of the food to go. The store is going to have a big Daily Deli section, and they are totally geared up to providing a full solution that’s all ready to go,” he told C-Store.
He said 30% of the sales area would be dedicated to fresh food.
His store in the Farnworth area of Bolton was named Best Independent Store at the Convenience Retail Awards 2016.
