Bestway is demonstrating it is learning lessons from Batleys, the cash and carry business it took over last year, with the launch of a retailer club based on Batleys' Xtra Local Club.
The UK's second largest cash and carry operator is set to launch its Best-In Club this month to support independent retailers with greater opportunities for bigger discounts.
Membership will give retailers access to regular promotions that will run for five-week buying in and three-week selling cycles, beginning on a Wednesday. There will be a selection of 35 products to choose from with key offers such as Coke 2ltr at £1.55 and Kit-Kat two-finger six-pack at 79p.
The scheme will be piloted at Bestway depots in Blackburn, Gateshead, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Stockport, before being rolled out across the remainder of the network. Members will also be supported with in-store pos and bespoke leaflets.
Bestway managing director Younus Sheikh said: "The success that Batleys has had from its Xtra Local Club encouraged us to start a similar scheme."
