Spar retailer Tates has been recognised by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) after raising £124,000 for the charity. Tates was awarded a prize for 'outstanding results in building community support' at the BHF's first Heart of Business Awards.
Staff at Tates' 203 stores raised funds through store raffles, dress-up days and sponsored walks.
