I’ll wait for the £1 4-pack hits the discount channel.
Temporarily? Two weeks and counting.... Is criticism of Nisa censored because they are an advertiser on the Convenience Store website?
Next thing you know Scotmid will be letting out the grocery department too.
Do you remember when the Co-op movement had the ability to run all sorts of businesses? Why do Nisa ‘members’ think the Co-op can be more successful running a wholesale operation than it was in running manufacturing, department stores, butcher shops, shoe shops.....
Simple solution: charge10p. Now James you’ve got the rest of the day to do something important.
Jayesh, even if the bank didn’t pay you wouldn’t lose the £45 twice. Your actual loss would be the cost price of the goods
Why has the article regarding the anonymous Nisa retailer analysing the pricing structure (retail v wholesale) of Co-op brand products been removed?
Interesting article but the Co-op dividend calculation is actually wrong. Previously the Co-op gave 5% back to the customer and 1% to good causes, a total of 6%, on own brand products. The dividend is now 2% to the customer and 2% to good causes, a total of 4%. In effect they have reduced the cost of the divi by a third. Whilst this doesn’t affect the retailer’s point I think it shows the Co-op is actively looking to scrape higher margins wherever it can.
Why does Simply Fresh need Costcutter between them and Nisa and how do they justify the cost of that extra unnecessary layer?
Why do people sign up to contracts that allow the supplier to change the charges so drastically?
You’ve sold your soul to the co-op; don’t expect to have a say.
Further to my earlier post, I have just seen the full Morrison’s press release. Apparently the Safeway brand is to be developed further over the coming months. It seems strange to brand the stores as Morrison’s but stock them with Safeway branded products. Also raises the question as to why Safeway products are now in the clearance channel.
I assume this means the end of the Safeway brand. I see some Safeway products are already being offered by discount wholesalers.
Paying bills, tickets etc in c-stores is an interim technology with no future. Your future is selling merchandise Arif.
By the look of that frontage you certainly are competing Faraz. Well done. Have to say though, it disappoints me that so many good retailers are still supporting Tesco. Give CJ Lang a call.
Shushil wants to know who is in charge. Well mate, you’re signed up to Nisa so Co-op Group is in charge. Note that Nisa’s response includes reference to “retail team colleagues”; I wonder who they could possibly mean?
“My main competitor is Tesco so I’m making them my main supplier”. I give up.
Independent retailers are destroying what is left of the wholesale sector by buying from Sainsbury’s, Tesco and the co-op. Add Morrison’s supply deal with McColls and the Morrison’s Daily shops on forecourts and this is a huge loss of sales for wholesalers.
I would have thought that Sainsbury’s having supply problems would be an opportunity for Spar and Vito retailers. Strange that their wholesaler didn’t see it that way.
Which companies offer the 20% off Employer’s Liability Insurance?
