Costcutter Supermarkets Group has introduced Android Pay to stores across the country as part of an investment programme in new technology systems.
Costcutter was quick to offer contactless card payment and has now expanded its payment range to Android Pay after the launch of Apple Pay throughout its stores last year.
Over 1,000 Android- and Apple Pay-enabled devices have already been installed across the group, with Android Pay now available to all Costcutter, Mace, Supershop, Kwiksave and Simply Fresh stores which operate the Group’s CPoS system.
Dave Morris, IT director for Costcutter, said: “Android Pay is great news for our retailers. Being able to offer this latest technology compliments the range of existing payment options on offer and should lead to an overall increase in the use of contactless payment, which will in turn help reduce cash handling, queuing times and the associated costs for retailers.”
