Costcutter Supermarkers Group is helping retailers to interact online with a social media training programme.
The programme will be available to all 2,600 symbol group members, following a successful pilot programme which saw retailers drive increased sales by using social media interfaces.
The training will cover platforms such as Facebook and will help retailers develop online presence through running store specific promotions, competitions, or organising and promoting local events.
Costcutter digital marketing manager Sean Russell said: “There is significant demand from our retailers to use social media as they recognise the opportunity it provides to engage with their local customers. Our focus is on creating online engagement to drive store footfall and retailers will be shown how to tailor their activity to the wants and needs of specific local consumers.”
Each store’s Facebook page can be linked to the master brand page to create consistency for consumers while reinforcing national promotions and initiatives.
