Retailers are invited to submit how crime has affected their businesses over the past 12 months to the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) 2011 Crime Survey.
Covering staff theft, burglaries, robberies, incidents of physical violence and verbal abuse, and vandalism, the survey aims to reveal the true impact of crime in the neighbourhood retailing sector.
Last year’s Crime Prevention survey revealed a 30% increase in the number of robberies and a 19% increase in the number of burglaries. The cost of each burglary also rose by 190% with an average cost of £6,091 for the retailer.
The 2011 survey results will be revealed at the ACS Crime Prevention Forum which takes place on February 9 in Manchester. The forum will be focusing on community crime fighting, best practice for prevention of crime and justice. Speaking at the event will be representatives from the Home Office, the Ministry of Justice and the Association of Business Crime Partners.
The deadline for submissions in January 24. Take part in the 2011 Crime Prevention Survey.
