Regular London correspondent Roy Gudka emailed me a question a while back which, from memory (in an upgrade from Windows 7 to 8.1 in mid-April I managed to lose my entire email address system) went like this: he went to Asda and when he went in he noticed that the gantry was wide open. It remained so for his entire shopping trip. How do they get away with it, he asked.
All I can say is that they were lucky.
And now I have noticed two stores near me that have left their gantries all unbuttoned and exposed. Make sure your staff are tuned in to the new rules. The TSOs might be lenient at first, but that won’t last; after that it will be an open and shut case.
