Dhamecha Cash and Carry is expanding its reach beyond the M25 following the acquisition of its eighth depot site - in Leicester, East Midlands.
The Today’s Group member’s new site is expected to launch towards the end of 2015, in time for the busy Christmas trading period.
The 140,000 sq ft site will be completely re-modelled and refurbished to create an 80,000 sq ft warehouse facility, together with a substantial car park.
Chief executive Pradip Dhamecha said: “We have built our business around the M25 and are proud to have opened seven depots servicing our retail customers in London and the surrounding conurbations since Dhamecha Cash and Carry was established in 1976.
“We have been looking for a site in the central region of the country for some time and are pleased to have located the site in Leicestershire to continue the expansion of our organisation.
“We are very excited about the prospect of bringing our strategy of great prices, excellent value and outstanding customer service to a whole new audience in Leicestershire and the surrounding region,” he added.
The news of Dhamecha’s eighth site was also welcomed by Today’s Group managing director Bill Laird. “In an ultra-competitive environment this is great news for suppliers and retailers and paves the way for even further expansion in the coming years,” he said.
