This summer, Alpro’s three-strong range of plant-based ice creams will extend to four with the launch of a new premium Almond Salted Caramel variant, offering 30% less sugar than similar products (rrp 3.50 per 500g tub).
Vicky Upton, head of marketing at Alpro UK & Ireland, said: “We’re excited to take our innovation in the ice cream category to the next level, and we expect that the combination of almond with salted caramel will be well-received by shoppers – particularly as it offers a double whammy of fantastic taste and also has 30% less sugars, just like the other products in our 100% plant-based ice cream range.
“Since launch in October 2016, Alpro ice cream has proven a strong addition to our growing plant-based range, helping us to ramp our cross category offer and tap into the rising interest in plant-based choices – as well as provide a double win for retailers by driving incremental branded sales, and bringing new shoppers into ice cream.
Alpro is also driving visibility of its ice cream range during the pivotal pre-summer sales period, with a fresh round of national TV advertising and a nationwide sampling campaign.
