Food-to-go sandwich giant Subway has opened store number 2,500, in Keynsham, Banes, under the new Subway Fresh Forward format.
The store, near Bristol, is the second test outlet featuring the new design to open in the UK. The first opened in Manchester in March.
Stephen and Sue Pasco are the new store’s franchisees. They operate 16 Subways across Bristol, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire.
The new format includes digital menu boards, free-to-use charging ports and special displays for cookies, bread baked in store daily and freshly cut vegetables.
Sue Pasco said: “We’re hugely proud to be able to open the brand’s 2,500th store and that it is one of the first UK stores featuring the new look design.
“The modern design will offer customers more of what they love about Subway stores – highlighting our bread baked in store daily, cookies and some of our veggies in modern displays – whilst offering great value and fresh, varied menu options.”
The new design is expected to feature in eight stores in the UK by Christmas before it is rolled out to all branches over the next few years.
