Landmark Wholesale’s managing director Martin Williams is to succeed Booker’s Guy Farrant as chairman of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors (FWD) when his term ends this April.
Martin will work with chief executive James Bielby and the FWD team to deliver its strategy of promoting wholesale, representing members’ interests to government and improving communications within the supply chain.
The year ahead would see the FWD work closely with several government departments on the development of policy and legislation around alcohol, food issues and crime against wholesalers, Williams said.
It would also be expanding its events programme “to create further opportunities to bring wholesalers and suppliers together to discuss how we can provide a better service across the board for our customers,” he added.
The FWD’s council of members meet four times a year. Guy Farrant became FWD chairman in 2012 and will remain a member of the council.
