The Londis fleet now has full chilled capacity for the first time as part of a £4m investment in its fresh food expansion.
The move will enable the group to supply all Londis retailers with the full fresh range. The multi-million pound, 72-piece fleet completes the replacement of the 400-strong fleet operated by Musgrave Retail Partners GB for its Londis and Budgens stores.
The vehicles' engines meet stringent emission standards and offer improved fuel efficiencies. Londis said the new fleet would play a key part in saving more than 2.25 million road miles this year.
Musgrave Retail Partners GB supply chain director Scott Wharton said: "We can now offer Londis retailers a complete service for fresh produce and reduce the impact of our operations on the environment."
