Just four months before UK tobacco manufacturers will be forced to stop producing cigarettes in packs of less than 20, JTI has unveiled a new smaller pack size for its value prided B&H Blue brand.
From the end of this month, the brand, its lowest priced, will be available in smaller packs of 17 with an rrp of £5.99.
Packs were previously available in 18s, and have been reduced across King Size and Superkings Blue and Sky Blue variants.
Jeremy Blackburn, JTI head of communications said: “The trend towards value cigarettes is still going strong, and as JTI’s cheapest cigarette brand, B&H Blue is a must stock for any retailer looking to capitalise on this sales opportunity.”
Launched as an extension to the Benson and Hedges House in 2014, B&H Blue is made from a quality blend of Virginia tobacco and currently holds a 5% share of the combined super value segments.
As well as the launch of 17s, JTI is also offering wholesale deals in January and February on B&H Blue and Sky Blue variants.
Trade media adverts displaying promotional codes to be entered online at JTI Advance (www.jtiadvance.co.uk) will also offer retailers the chance to win £100 worth of Amber Leaf stock.
