Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has announced former Applegreen UK managing director Michael O’Loughlin as its new md for acquisitions and business development. 

In 1997, O’Loughlin joined Petrogas as a licensee in Dublin. He later became managing director of Applegreen’s UK business, expanding the brand to 75 forecourt sites. He left the business in December 2016.

O’Loughlin said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team. The company’s rapid growth over a very short period of time is an indication of the dedication and drive of the whole team. I’m really looking forward to playing my part in the successful and dynamic model they operate.”

The new role will see O’Loughlin work to expand MFG’s retail and ‘food to go’ offering, using his previous forecourt retail experience to continue to grow the brand.
