Nisa-Today's has held its first Nisa Members Only Forum - a series of presentations and workshops covering the group's strategy.
More than 200 members attended the event at Chateau Impney in Droitwich, Worcestershire, to discuss central distribution, epos and IT, category management and symbol group development.
Nisa-Today's chief executive Neil Turton explained: "We organised the forum as an initiative to develop a closer working relationship with Nisa members and consult with them on the thinking behind our future business plans for Nisa retail in the next 12 months.
"Not only did the event achieve all of these things, but it also highlighted the passion that remains within the membership for the independent sector and the group as a whole."
Attending member Kishor Patel from Houghton Regis, Bedford, said: "It was well worthwhile. It was good to be divided into smaller workshops and discuss a wide variety of subjects. There have been regional meetings before but they used to be a bit one way. This was more interactive."
