A Surrey-based Nisa store has achieved a 50% uplift in turnover since converting to the group’s new store of the future 2 model.
The store, situated in Tongham near Guildford, has been a Nisa member for four years and underwent a full refit in April 2015.
The refit included incorporating the local Post Office into the store, which has successfully driven footfall and provided more services to the local community. During the refit the store also underwent a full range review to ensure the space in-store was fully utilised and that new products could be introduced at customers’ requests.
Sujit Desai, store owner, said: “We saw the store of the future 2 model and thought it would work incredibly well for our store. We have been overwhelmed by the success of the refit in terms of turnover and our customers love the look of the new store and all of the new products available.”
The group’s store of the Future 2 project was developed on careful consumer research examining shopper missions by location and demographic. The results identified five key format areas - neighbourhood, high street, small store, forecourt and supermarket.
