Aryzta Food Solutions is tapping into demand for free-from alternatives with a new range of vegan savouries.

Available from December, the range consists of four new products, including:

  • Vegan Sausage Roll (rrp £1.50 / 150g) - a meat-free sausage with onion, flavoured with garden herbs, wrapped in puff pastry and finished with a light parsley topping.
  • Vegan Spicy Chickpea & Kale Pithivier (rrp £2.00 / 185g) – a French-inspired savoury pie recipe with a Moroccan twist, with a chickpea, sweet potato and apricot filling made with a blend of herbs and spices; finished off with a parsley topping.
  • Vegan Spicy Chickpea Roll (rrp £1.50 / 180g) - a spicy blend of chickpeas, sweet potato, red peppers and tomato wrapped in a light puff pastry roll and sprinkled with paprika.
  • Vegan Saag Aloo Lattice Slice (usually rrp £1.75 – Christmas promotional rrp of £1.50 / 170g) - filled with potato and spinach, blended with Indian herbs and spices and enveloped in a crisp puff pastry case.

Mary Byrne, trade marketing manager for retail at Aryzta, said; “The growth of free-from and ‘plant-power’ has been significant in the past couple of years, with more and more consumers now opting for vegan or ‘flexitarian’ diets for health or environmental reasons.

“The new vegan range will give shoppers greater choice, from traditional favourites such as the Sausage Roll, to more exotic flavours such as that of our Saag Aloo Lattice Slice. Innovation around vegetarian and vegan food-to-go has been a key driver of growth in 2018, and with Veganuary just around the corner, retailers can look forward to driving in-store bakery sales with a product offering that’s right on trend.”

Aryzta Food Solutions is urging retailers to utilise POS to drive shoppers to the ISB fixture and encourage impulse purchase from food-to-go customers.
