South Wales-based Bon Bon Buddies is launching a range of themed confectionery for Universal Studios’ summer movie The Secret Life of Pets.
Aimed at children aged four and above, the six-strong range will be available from 1 June, a few weeks ahead of the official release date of the film on 24 June.
The range will comprise: Surprise Bags (small - 15g, rrp £1.09 and large - 29g, rrp £1.99), Surprise Eggs (10g, rrp 89p), six-pack chocolate bars (72g (6 x 12g), rrp £1), individual chocolate bars (100g, rrp £1) and Crispy Choc Mini Tins (30g with collectable embossed tin, rrp £1). The products will feature the movies main characters: Max, Duke, Chloe and Gidget, and are gluten-free, and suitable for vegetarians.
The new contract builds upon Bon Bon Buddies’ existing relationship with Universal Studios, which previously awarded the confectioner with the license to produce Minion-themed confectionery.
Managing director Justin Thomas said: “Building a long-term relationship with all clients is extremely important to Bon Bon Buddies, but maintaining ongoing links with major production companies such as Universal, shows we do compete on a global scale.
“We pride ourselves on our established licensor relationships, and this new contract adds another string to our bow, showing our enthusiasm to engage with film titles that resonate with children and families.”
