Lilt is to join the Fanta portfolio and change its name, Coca-Cola Europacifc Partners GB has confirmed.
From today (14 February), it will be known as Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit while Lilt Zero will also be rebranded to Fanta Zero Pineapple & Grapefruit.
The shift to the Fanta branding has been gradually happening with changes to its packaging and logo over the past few months.
This change will be supported with social media and out-of-home advertising as well as PR and influencer activity.
Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit is available in 330ml cans, 500ml and 2L rPET bottles and Fanta Zero Pineapple & Grapefruit is available in 2L rPET bottles only.
Martin Attock, vice president of commercial development at Coca-Cola Europacifc Partners GB, explained the change. “With Lilt’s punchy taste profile and distinctive fruity flavour, it fits perfectly within the expanding Fanta portfolio, a brand that is the no.1 flavoured carbonate in GB,” he said. “Our main priority with this announcement is to reassure Lilt’s loyal fan base that absolutely nothing has changed when it comes to the iconic taste of the drink they know and love. It’s still bursting with tangy tropical flavours. It’s just got itself a new name.”
