McCain has launched Waffle Fries – lattice shaped fries that are inspired by the casual dining sector.
Waffle Fries will be rolled out nationally in convenience and independent stores with an RRP of £1.99 for a 550g bag.
McCain is launching this product in response to the popularity of lattice fries in the QSR (Quick service restaurant) market and to allow shoppers to recreate an ‘at-home restaurant’ experience which remains a safer and more affordable space.
McCain marketing director Mark Hodge said: “We’re really excited to be expanding our fries range with our new Waffle Fries. They provide a great new product to enjoy at mealtimes as they tap into a gap in the market for branded shaped fries. We know that now, more than ever, consumers are shopping for the ‘at-home’ restaurant as families turn to replicating their favourite restaurant-style experiences at home and Waffle Fries are the perfect side or sharer to accompany these types of meals. We are committed to tapping into these trends by providing high quality, delicious products that can be enjoyed at home with a variety of meal options.”
