Mondelēz International has unwrapped a selection of NPD for the festive season, including new self treats, sharing bars and calendars.
Last seen in 2003, Cadbury Puds are returning for 2021. The milk chocolate-coated puds boast a truffle and hazelnut centre and have an rrp of 60p.
Also new for 2021 is the limited-edition 95g Cadbury Dairy Milk (CDM) Winter Orange bar (rrp £1.49), which contains orange nugget inclusions.
These new additions join the rest of the self-treat and novelties range which includes Mini Snowballs, the number one novelty treat, which grew by 8% last year (Nielsen value sales, w.e. 26.12.20). Recent launches Little Robins (Hazelnut Creme and Chocolate Noisette) and Jingly Bells (classic and Daim variants) will also return once more. CDM Snowman novelties are coming back in a new design, including the Orange flavour as well as Classic. Finally, within tablets, CDM Gingerbread and CDM Winter Wonderland will hit shelves once again this season.
The CDM Advent Calendar returns with a new design and new moulds. In addition, the firm is introducing a Build Your Own Christmas Tree Calendar (267g, £5.99). With every door opened, there’s a festive decoration to add to the pop-up Christmas tree featured inside the pack. Another new addition is the Freddo Colour Me In Advent Calendar (rrp £3, 102g).
Cadbury Tree Decorations now come in a hollow bauble design with reduced packaging. Quality issues have been addressed to ensure that strings are firmly attached and there are more decorations per pack than in previous years. A 72g 12 pack has an rrp of £1.50 and a 108g 18 pack has an rrp of £2.50.
Cadbury is also tapping into the home baking trend with the CDM Chocolate House (900g, rrp £14), which is made up of Cadbury White Buttons, CDM Gingerbread, CDM Winter Wonderland, CDM tablets and Cadbury Flake.
Another newcomer is a multipack of Freddo Christmas crackers (125g, rrp £5), each filled with two Cadbury chocolates and a surprise toy.
A Cadbury Festive Collection (415g, £5.95) comprises 2 x CDM Winter Wonderland bars, a CDM Gingerbread bar and CDM Orange Winter edition bar.
Meanwhile Fry’s is relaunching its selection box (249g, rrp £2.99), with a new design and the addition of Fry’s Orange Cream to the mix.
This year Cadbury Roses and Cath Kidston have joined forces with a limited-edition tin (800g, rrp £9.99).
