Meat snack brand Peperami has pledged to “shake up” lunchtime and afternoon snack occasions with Pizza Buns, which combine a classic British food with Italian flavours.
Available in original and hot flavors, the buns are made with tomato herb sauce, salami, and a slice of cheese. “Mess-free” Peperami Pizza Buns can be eaten cold or microwaved and are ”packed with protein”. They have an RRP of £1.50 for a 75g single pack and £2.75 for a pack of four. Products come in a case of eight units and have five months shelf life.
Peperami is worth £100m (Nielsen) and is a key player in the chilled meat snacks category. The category value has grown by 10.8% in the last 12 months and is now worth over a quarter of a billion pounds, with sales at a value of £259m (Nielsen).
Peperami’s head of marketing Emily Prince says: “This exciting new launch will significantly contribute to meat snackings category growth, as more and more shoppers seek out unique high-protein snacks that are really tasty, filling and fun to eat.
“The innovators at Peperami have created this one-of-a-kind product and worked incredibly hard to add variety to our product portfolio and driven innovation within the market”.
