With new research showing that 40% of fruit carbonated shoppers buy a 1.5Ltr/2Ltr drink once a week or more (VYPR), Rio Tropical Fruit has entered the take home market with a 1.5l bottle (RRP £1.50).
The desire for drinks that incorporate natural ingredients, provenance and nutritional benefits also continues to be on the rise, as consumers look for added health benefits from the products they choose, claims distributor Boost Drinks. With its blend of five fruit flavours and sources of vitamin C, Rio is a top five ranked SKU in Fruit Carbonates within GB symbols and indies based on unit rate of sale IRI and is the fastest growing carbonate brand +29% YoY in GB symbols and independents and Northern Ireland convenience stores (IRI), claims the firm.
Adrian Hipkiss, marketing and international business director at Boost Drinks, said: “Considering the rising popularity of take drink home formats, which have grown 13.5% since last year [IRI], we felt there was a gap in the market for a 1.5L bottle of our original Rio Tropical flavour. Rio is both a drink that can cater to a range of drinking occasions as well as a beverage choice for those looking for a healthier alternative to sugary drinks.”
