Walkers, the number one savoury snacking brand (Nielsen Scantrack 2017), has extended its £1 price-marked-pack (PMP) range to include Bugles BBQ.
Price-marked packs are the key driver of Sharing growth in the Impulse channel, having contributed 70% of the sharing growth over the last year. PepsiCo £1 RRP price-marked-packs currently make up over 50% of the PMP sharing segment in Independents and are in double digit growth (Nielsen 52 w/e 14.01.17), so extending the Walkers PMP range offers retailers a real opportunity to benefit from this and drive footfall into store.
With growth of sharing bags at +6.5% value within Impulse (Nielsen 52 w/e 22.07.2017), the addition of the Bugles PMP exclusively available to the channel, demonstrates support for independent retailers to help drive further growth.
Hüseyin Tulpar, UK Vice President for Impulse Sales at PepsiCo, said: “With Bugles being the second biggest sharing innovation in 2016 (Nielsen 52 w/e 21 Jan 17 – Savoury Snacks Global Salty), we are delighted to be adding it to our price-marked pack line-up. We also know from our research that Bugles BBQ is a customer favourite and we are confident that the £1 RRP PMP variant will be very popular and perform well for retailers.”
Retailers are encouraged to visit: www.countsformore.co.uk, the PepsiCo online rewards and category management website for information on how to make the most of their snacking sales.

The Collective (www.thecollectivedairy.com) is adding a brand new, limited edition flavour SKU to its range of gourmet yoghurts with the release of its Limited Edition Pear ‘n’ Maple (RRP £2.00 for a 450g tub), to all major retailers.
The brand has become renowned for its innovative use of flavour, and their latest Limited Edition is no different. Inspired by classic autumnal and winter flavours, this is The Collective’s first ever pear-inspired yoghurt, further enhanced with the addition of maple syrup and a pinch of sea salt.
The finest West Country milk is used to make The Collective’s signature gourmet yoghurt base, creating a smooth finish and creamy taste for which they have become renowned for.
The yoghurt base is then combined with two layers of the irresistible pear compote, which uses real chunks of William pear, a variety known for its sweet and juicy flavour. These pears are slowly caramelised in a pan with butter, brown sugar and finally maple syrup to create a rich and butter caramel flavour, infused throughout the fruit.
Finished off with a pinch of sea salt, this cuts through the sweetness, providing a delicious contrast in flavour, enhancing the caramel flavours of the compote, and adding a sophisticated gourmet twist.
With its buttery, caramel flavours, it’s perfect for dolloping on top of pancakes, served with granola and fresh fruit, or enjoyed as an evening treat on chilly autumnal nights.
Amelia Harvey, co-founder of The Collective says: “We love to experiment with unexpected flavours when creating our Limited Editions. As we head into cooler climes, what better way to embrace the season with the comforting taste and texture of pear coupled with the buttery notes of maple syrup; we’ve added a touch of salt in too which gives the traditional flavour a bit of an edge.”
Previous limited editions have included; Strawberry ‘n’ Mascarpone, Super Berries, Brownlee Apple and Blackberry, which supported the Brownlee Foundation and Honeyed Plum and Stem Ginger in memory of its co-founder Mike Hodgson and supporting The Community Heartbeat Trust.
The yoghurt will be available nationwide from mid-October to January in Waitrose, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Whole Foods, Morrison’s, The Co-Op and Booths with a RRP of £2 for a 450g pot. The 150g pot will be available in Boots and Booths with an RRP of £1.
