Barry Patel, owner of three Nisa Local stores in Luton and Oxford, says the Co-op own-brand products have come at the perfect time for his business.  

“We’ve had a really good summer. It’s be a very positive couple of months especially with the football as well as the weather but things have slowed down a bit since the schools broke up.

“Luckily, it’s perfect timing that the Co-op products have just become available to us and we’ve been seeing excellent sales. Their fresh meat, bread and salads have gotten very good reviews. The fresh meat especially, is very popular with our shoppers.

“We are also working to get some extra basket spend from each shopper buy up-selling as my staff are very good at this. We currently have a stack of six-packs of water by the tills and we’ve encouraged a lot of shoppers to buy these.”
