Wrigley hopes to grow the gum category with the re-design of its Extra 60 pellet bottle. The new-look pack comes with a lower price point of £1.99 and is set to appeal to consumers wishing to snack at work and in the car.
“Research shows that the trend for snacking at work and eating and drinking on the road is on the rise, which is why it’s important that consumers have a convenient way to keep their teeth clean and healthy after eating and drinking, when brushing isn’t possible,” says brand manager Katie Codd. “Ideal for desk or car and accredited by the British Dental Health Foundation, the sugarfree Extra 60 Pellet Bottle is a great oral care solution for in between brushing, for consumers who graze frequently throughout the day.”
The UK gum category is worth £270m, with Extra accounting for £192.5m in sales.
