I along with my brothers joined Costcutter 7 years ago forming a group of 4 stores. I joined Costcutter because of there excellent customer service, image and marketing I felt at that time under Colin graves the founder of Costcutter they understood what Independant retailers wanted and respected the fact that the group had grown so large because of the mutual understanding and respect between retailer and symbol group. I found I personally could empathise with Colin graves because I too had started from scratch alongside my family as he had done. For me personally Costcutter has lost it's way it seems to now have become another arm of a large diversified organisation which is both asset and cash rich but out of touch with humble Independant retailers. Leaving Costcutter was the hardest decision myself and my family have had to make but for me personally a persons word is his promise. A lot was promised but unfortunately I cannot sit back and watch a business I and my brothers have built up deteriate while promises are made and broken on a routine basis. I will finish with one comment, When the titanic was launched it was hailed as an engineering feat the biggest ocean liner of its kind and people were dying to climb aboard. We all know the ending and for this reason my family and I are jumping in the first lifeboat off while they are still available.
