The potential is massive - yes, it feels like getting into bed with the enemy, but this is business and this last year has shown that survivability is key.
There's so many potential advantages to this merger for Booker fascias: the margin and range increase when we merged with Booker was a huge step in the right direction for us, so hopefully this will continue the trend.
We need to see these quick wins on core lines to see that they've put their money where their mouths are. Keep us competitive on what people want: milk, bread etc.

The way that some of these comments are written makes it sound like they're going to wring us dry and then bin us off, but why wouldn't they want this to work?? No staffing costs, no rent, no overheads, just transport to get their products shifted quickly to someone else. At a time when tesco is sitting on a property portfolio including some mothballed stores, why would they not want the risk to be someone else's, especially when they make money from it?
And that's without even mentioning their vast catering empire.

There's scope for loyalty cards and fuel and perhaps we'll see a new fascia entering the market place as a result of this merger.
