Wholesale group Sugro is to launch a Click and Collect offer for its members following a significant investment in IT.
The development, managing director Philip Jenkins said, would give independent retailers the option to collect goods from their delivered wholesalers, or visit the cash and carry.
“Click and collect is a hugely exciting commercial opportunity,” Jenkins added. “The industry is now at a tipping point, and it won’t be long before large numbers of independent retailers switch to online ordering via their computers, smartphones and tablets. When that happens, our members will be ready.”
The group, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year, has also recently unveiled the first of its new-look Nearbuy symbol stores in Braunton Devon.
The store features a brighter more modern fascia and bold window graphics.
