Lesley and William Brown have demonstrated how retailers can take a stand against crime by working with their communities. They have made an incredible effort to reach out to local people, the police force, and the authorities. They had to jump through numerous hoops when building a community office to be used by local groups, but they were determined to succeed. Judges felt that the couple set a great example to their fellow retailers. Their tireless work within their locality should be applauded, and emulated by others throughout the country.
