Londis retailer Steve Bassett is celebrating sweet sucess after establishing a new street-facing ice cream stall at his Weymouth town store in Dorset.
Built into what was a section of “dead space”, the stall sells locally-sourced ice cream from nearby Craig of Osmington, and boasts an array of novel flavours including apple crumble, Turkish delight, peaches and cream, as well as more conventional favourites.
“I wanted to get a local following as well as attract holiday makers, so it was important to find a local supplier,” said Steve. “This is so local that customers can see the cows grazing in the field while they eat the ice cream!”
The fascia is temporary, and will be replaced by Londis branding in the winter.
