Retail group Amacor has today opened its first Morrison Daily in Newton Le Willows, Merseyside. This is the first of three former Nisa sites that Amacor is switching to Morrisons Daily, with Bradford and Blackpool outlets converting next month.
The fresh food convenience stores will offer customers a carefully tailored mix of Morrisons own brand products alongside branded favourites.
As well as new ranges, the stores have all received a complete redesign internally and externally incorporating Morrisons operational planograms.
Paul Dobson, sales director - franchise & wholesale supply at Morrisons, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Amacor and opening the first Morrisons Daily with them. The team has a wealth of retail expertise and we’ve combined that with our operational support to create a great store in Newton Le Willows. Fresh food is at the heart of the store and we hope customers will love it.”
Martin Corban, managing director of Amacor, said: “Today is an exciting milestone for Amacor as we open the first of three Morrisons Daily stores. We’ve been really impressed with the support the team at Morrisons has given us over the last few months from an operations and format perspective right through to the promotional plans and ranges so we’re looking forward to showing the local community our new store.
“Final preparations are also underway for our stores in Bradford and Blackpool and we’re looking forward to opening them in May”.
In addition, Amacor owns a further 14 Nisa stores and claims to be “one of the UK’s fastest growing businesses in the retail sector with an ever-growing portfolio of convenience stores”.
