Dee Sedani Skydive

One Stop retailer Dee Sedani has taken the ultimate step to raise money in honour of his friend Raj Aggarwal who passed away due to Covid-19 during the pandemic.

Dee completed a skydive at 13,000ft to raise money for Leicester Hospitals Charity and for Sheffield Hospitals Charity as part of the #DoAsRajWouldDo initiative.

Before he even completed the skydive, Dee raised more than £3,000 for the charities meaning he had to do the jump wearing a Lewis Hamilton T-Shirt and Everton FC Shorts.

To also help honour Raj, the Association of Convenience Stores has created the Raj Aggarwal Trophy, designed to award retailers who have been exceptional in community retailing and helping their fellow retailers.

This is the second year of running the Raj Aggarwal trophy and the ACS is looking for retailers to submit video entries.

The films will be judged using the following criteria:

  • Engagement of colleagues in conceiving and delivering activity
  • Impact on local community
  • Sustainability of activity
  • Overall work to support other retailers

The judges are: Sunita Aggarwal, Raj’s wife; Jonathan James – Managing Director – James Convenience Retail; Avtar Sidhu – Owner – Budgens Kenilworth; and James Lowman – Chief Executive – ACS.

Entries must be received by Sarah C Johnson at sarah.johnson@acs.org.uk by 7 September.
