Industry charity GroceryAid has expanded its mental health support offering after forming a new partnership with Rightsteps, which provides online wellbeing assistance.
The agreement means those working in the grocery industry will have access to Rightsteps’ wide range of mental health support on its evidence-based online platform.
GroceryAid welfare director Mandi Leonard said: “Mental health is the number one health issue for employees in the UK and over the last five years rates of absence due common forms of mental health issues including anxiety and low mood (depression) have grown consistently year on year.
“In many businesses mental health has overtaken MSK and physical illness as the leading cause of absence within the workforce. We are pleased to make this accessible and user-friendly support available to the industry.”
Lord Adebowale, chief executive of parent company Turning Point, said: “We are delighted that Rightsteps, part of the Turning Point group, have formed the partnership with GroceryAid enabling more people to get the support they need.”
Rightsteps takes a preventative approach, focusing on psycho-education and support to develop self-awareness and self-management in relation to health and wellbeing. The support will be available on-demand, providing evidence-based interventions which help people develop personal resilience and self-management techniques to improve wellbeing.
