London-based retail group LA Foods has donated more than £10,000 to support warm hubs over winter through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity.
LA Foods’ donation will be used to support 11 warm hubs across London, including The Magpie Project, North London Action for the Homeless, Spring Community Hub and Hendon Salvation Army. The hubs are community spaces that are used to keep warm during the winter months. They typically offer free hot drinks, food, and other support services.
Through MADL, LA Foods have donated over £70,000 to local charities and organisations.
“We are delighted to be able to support these warm hubs over the winter months,” said Tabrez Hussain of LA Foods. “Warm hubs play a vital role in our communities, providing a safe and warm space for people to go during the cold weather. We hope that our donation will help to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
Head of charity at Nisa Kate Carroll said: “Our retailers are always looking to give back to their communities and I’m delighted to see that LA Foods will be supporting people who are struggling over the cold winter months.
“Warm hubs offer a safe shelter for thousands of people across the UK so to be able to provide additional funding to these community assets is fantastic.”
