McColl’s has announced the appointment of Richard Crampton to the newly-created position of chief commercial officer.
Crampton is currently managing director of the Buying Group, a joint venture of the eight largest Co-ops.
He previously spent over seven years at Sainsbury’s where he undertook a number of commercial roles.
Crampton will begin his role at McColl’s in autumn 2019.
McColl’s chief executive Jonathan Miller said: “I am delighted to welcome Richard to McColl’s. His background with the multiple grocers and his extensive experience in convenience and food retail will be a tremendous benefit to our business as we further strengthen our neighbourhood convenience offer.”
Crampton said: “I am delighted to be joining McColl’s, and I look forward to working with Jonathan and the wider team to capitalise on the many opportunities available to the company in the convenience market.”
