Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses following a “hugely serious” armed robbery at a McColl’s store in Liverpool.
The incident happened at the store on County Road in the area of Walton at around 6:15pm on 9 February.
A man entered the store, believed to be carrying a handgun and demanded money from the till before making off on foot.
The offender is described as medium build, in his 30’s with a brown beard and wearing a blue jacket with paint splatters on it, jeans, black trainers and a black backpack.
Detective Constable, Nick Glascott-Tull, said: “Luckily no one was injured but both shop assistants have been left feeling understandably shaken by the ordeal.
“This is a hugely serious offence and for someone to show absolutely no regard for the safety of the general public by carrying a gun so carelessly is very worrying. We are doing all we can to analyse CCTV and undertake forensic analysis as a matter of urgency to ensure we can trace the person responsible as quickly as possible.”
The incident followed a number of recent armed robberies across the UK.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting 19100040412.
