Michael Kosciukiewicz will join Morrisons this month as supply chain & logistics director for convenience and wholesale.
In the newly created role, Kosciukiewicz will be responsible for further improving the level of service the retailer provides to all its Morrisons Daily stores and wholesale customers.
The appointment comes as Morrisons continues to invest in its convenience and wholesale business.
It has recently transitioned to a new convenience distribution network and doubled its ambient distribution centre by moving to a new depot in Northampton.
The business has also started to take fresh inbound deliveries directly from suppliers in order to “provide convenience stores with fresher produce more consistently”.
Its fulfilment partner, DHL, is also investing in its delivery fleet and recruiting more drivers dedicated to Morrisons, said the retailer.
Ross Eggleton group logistics, supply chain & technology director at Morrisons said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Michael to our team as we kick off the new year. We are very aware that at the end of last year a number of factors impacted our service levels for some of our convenience and wholesale customers. We are working hard to fully recover as quickly as possible and improve the level of service and this great appointment is one of a number of steps we are taking to strengthen the business.”
Michael Kosciukiewicz commented on his new role: “I’m excited to be joining Morrisons to support the continued growth of its convenience and wholesale business. I’m looking forward to getting out into stores and meeting our partners in the coming weeks and hearing how I can support them as we grow together.”
