Nisa is ramping up the roll-out of its partnership with the Jisp ‘Scan & Save’ loyalty service.

The scheme uses AR voucher technology to bring discounts on branded products.

Through the enhanced partnership, Nisa retailers will get access to a Jisp dedicated support department and the retail growth management team, who work directly with retailers to improve ‘Scan & Save’ performance, as well as access to retail media including in-app and SMS shopper notifications and targeted email campaigns promoting offers in store which can be personalised to Nisa partners.

Since it launched into Nisa stores in September 2021, the scheme has seen more than 200 Nisa retailers sign up, with an average of 3,500 voucher redemptions per store recorded over a 12-month period resulting in in-store sales increasing by more than 20% on average.

Jisp said that since the app was made available to Nisa retailers, there have been over 1.3million AR voucher scans and over one million redemptions made in Nisa stores alone with Scan & Save. This has resulted in over £1.5m in added sales through the app and almost £750,000 in discounts to shoppers in those participating Nisa stores.

Managing director of Jisp, Ilann Hepworth said: “We’ve been working very closely with the team at Nisa for a while now and have built a robust support structure to ensure their retailer partners have everything they need to be successful in a competitive marketplace with Scan & Save. We’re excited by the prospect of continuing that partnership with a greater number of Nisa retailers and suppliers.”

Nisa commercial director, Ayaz Alam, praised the partnership. “It’s been really positive to see how the trial has performed and to see our retailers benefitting from a compelling value and loyalty proposition. At a time when value has never been more important to shoppers, we’re delighted to be able to scale our relationship with Jisp and to work together to enhance our offer for suppliers and retailers.”

Data taken from Jisp’s top 10 performing stores show that on average, Scan & Save boosts sales by £100,000 a year while delivering over £30,000 of discounts to shoppers. In addition, there has been a marked increase in footfall and repeat shopper visits, both double the industry average, as the service continues to drive shopper loyalty. Through Scan & Save, retailers receive weekly payments based on in-store redemptions, as well as 6p back on every Scan & Save product purchased.

Andrew Newton of Nisa Local Colley Gate said he has seen sales increase by over 20% since launching Scan & Save in store.

“Jisp Scan & Save is the best thing to happen to the store,” he said. “Footfall is up, basket spend is up, sales are up! We have around 620 active users of the app and about 100 of those use Scan & Save with us on a daily basis. It’s going so well we’ve gone from a small table display to 19.5m of shelving dedicated to Scan & Save promoted products, and we’re increasing that again soon by another 31m.”
