Nisa has launched a new online portal that will allow retailers to browse and order thousands of products and services from local, regional and specialist suppliers.

The new ‘Direct to Store’ system, launched at Nisa’s retail exhibition on Tuesday (April 10), enables Nisa members to search and compare a range of product catalogues from multiple suppliers outside of central distribution.

Members can place orders using an online basket and suppliers will receive notifications to process items accordingly.

The system has been integrated with Nisa’s existing online ordering site which means members will still have access to more than 13,000 products already available through the grup’s central distribution service.

Adrian Page, business manager for Direct to Store, said: “We are delighted to be able to launch the first phase of the new Direct to Store system for our members. It will give them better visibility of the variety of products available from the Direct to Store supply base; whether they are local or regional suppliers or more specialist wholesalers, their ranges will all be in one place.

“Phase 1 is not designed to replace the current Direct to Store processes, but simply to provide an additional channel for members to use. However, once complete with the future releases and EPOS integration planned throughout this year, the new system will greatly simplify the whole DTS operation for members, vastly reducing administration at store level and improving the whole invoice process.”
