Tomorrow will see 20 One Stop stores undergo a ‘purple takeover’ to celebrate Cadbury’s 200th birthday.
Running until 19th May, the initiative will involve purple bunting, posters, barkers, balloon arches and even hanging signs with LED lights appearing in the stores to flag up the occasion. Customers will have the opportunity to taste and collect Cadbury’s new 180g Limited Edition Cadbury Dairy Milk Bars (RRP £1.80 RRP); including six different pack designs from as far back as 1915 until the present day.
The Cadbury team will also be on hand to give out free Cadbury merchandise including tote bags, hoodies, hats and notebooks and each store will giveaway 50 goodie bags filled with chocolate treats.
In addition, One Stop will be donating Cadbury products, which will be distributed to foodbanks local to the chosen 20 stores.
A handful of the stores taking part are based in the Midlands, including: Wednesfield, Solihull and Brownhills, which is located close to One Stop HQ. Other stores getting involved include: Ashington in Northumberland, Marlborough in Wiltshire, Bordon in Hampshire.
Head of product at One Stop Henry Maulik said: “Cadbury has been a constant in the lives of British people, a truly reliable brand, providing quality and value to its customers, something that we as a brand, also pride ourselves in. With Cadbury being Birmingham-born and One Stop being Wolverhampton-born, there is a strong West Midlands heritage connection between the brands, so when we were approached to be part of their 200th anniversary celebrations, we were thrilled.”
Cabury junior brand manager at Mondelēz International, Connor Gould, said: “We’re really looking forward to celebrating 200 years of Cadbury belonging to our nation this year. The British public has played such an important role in our history and we’re proud to celebrate being yours. We look forward to seeing One Stop shed light on this monumental anniversary through their store takeovers”.
Over the coming months, Cadbury will be announcing more plans for its 200th anniversary year, including ways that fans nationwide can get involved in the celebrations.
