Booker’s largest symbol group Premier is celebrating its 25th anniversary this summer with a host of special offer deals and consumer prize competitions.
Starting next month, more than £1.2m worth of prizes will be given away to shoppers through a scratchcard campaign, with a top prize of a Mini Cooper car and 700,000 individual instant-win prizes supported by suppliers. One in four scratchcards in circulation will feature a prize, and Booker will offer support to help retailers post stories of winners on their Facebook pages. Over a six-month period, Booker will also make 100 donations of £250 to local good causes on behalf of Premier members.
A range of “Mega” and “Wow” deals are available on larger packs and multipacks of snacks, and an additional alcohol leaflet is promoting on-trend lines for the summer, such as Dino Prosecco at an rsp of £7 per bottle and litres of branded spirits at £18.75 or £19.99.
Food to go is also highlighted as a major growth and margin opportunity for the group, and a new guide to the category will be launched to members this summer. As well as providing new POS and other support material for meal deals, Booker has sourced an entry-level bean-to-cup coffee solution available to lease for £25 per week.
The Premier group now comprises over 3,350 member stores worth more than £1bn in wholesale turnover.
