The Raj Aggarwal Family and Golf Day is to return for the third year running.
Taking place on 9 May at the Forest of Arden golf course, West Midlands, the event celebrates top retailer Raj Aggarwal who passed away in 2020 from Covid-19.
To date, the day has helped to raise over £100,000 for good causes across the country.
This year, the event organisers alongside the Association of Convenience Stores, have chosen National Children’s Charity ‘The Boparan Charitable Trust’ to be the beneficiary of the event. The Trust specialise in supporting a Brighter Future for children with disabilities, life-limiting conditions, and those in extreme poverty across the UK.
Teams of four will compete on the Forest of Arden’s Championship Golf Course, whilst the other guests will be treated to an afternoon of beer, wine and gin tasting. All guests will come together on the evening for an awards dinner and live entertainment.
Founder of the event Sunita Aggarwal said: “I am truly humbled by the continued support of this event from across the convenience stores industry. Particularly in these immensely challenging times for businesses, families, and individuals. I am delighted to be partnering with the Boparan Charity, it has been inspirational to meet their ambassador Rafi and to learn first-hand about the work they do in transforming young lives.”
Event manager for the Boparan Charitable Trust Kayleigh Biggs added: “A huge thank you to Sunita and her family for choosing the Trust as their charity for 2024. We cannot wait for this amazing day. A special mention to their organising committee Julian, Terry, Sarah and the Association of Convenience Stores. The event will help to raise vital funds to support our work, whilst also honouring the legacy and memory of Raj Aggarwal.”
