Police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store in the West Midlands, in which the store owner was injured.

The incident occurred at The Fold Post Office & Convenience Store in Walkers Heath, Birmingham, at around 5:30pm on 30 January.

West Midlands Police said a man entered through the back of the store and threatened a store worker with a knife, “causing a minor injury”, before leaving with a quantity of cash. The victim was reportedly store owner Harry Kundi. 

The incident followed several armed robberies across the UK in recent weeks, including an attack on a Co-op store in the Scottish Borders and an attempted armed robbery at a c-store in Cheshire.
