Scotmid Co-op has reopened its store in Inverkeithing, Fife, following a major revamp carried out in the wake of rainfall-induced damage.
All ranges have been expanded by 40% and food to go has been enhanced with a Chicken Wing & Rib Bar.
The store was temporarily closed after suffering substantial damage following heavy rainfall, before undergoing a complete transformation.
Scotmid’s head of food Kevin Plant said: “We’d like to thank all our members and customers in Inverkeithing for their patience while this transformation was taking place and we believe it will be well worth the wait because there is now a new state-of-the-art store for the local community.
“We’ve expanded all of our ranges in-store by 40% and we believe our members and customers will be really impressed with the new look and improved offering available.
“We’ve utilised the latest energy efficient technologies with refrigeration and lighting pinpointed as key priorities and the new spacious lay-out will provide an enhanced shopping experience for customers.”
Scotmid recently announced an increase in trading profit and turnover in its interim first half results, with the performance of its food stores “particularly encouraging”.
